I'm back for a minute...did you miss me?

It's just been very hectic around here lately. We have ALL been sick for the last few days. It started on Thursday night with Nicolas running a high 104 fever. On Saturday, Frank was sick, by Sunday Noelle was sick, and I finally got it on Tuesday. I actually went to work on Tuesday for an hour, because I was feeling okay. Then Frank called from home, saying I needed to come back, and I was already on my way out the door because I managed to get a doctor's appointment for Nicolas that morning.

So, the doctor's visit went well, even though poor Noelle had to sit in the stroller in the office miserable while I held Nicolas so the doc could examine him. He did great, actually lifted his shirt to let the doctor listen to his chest, I was shocked! At his 3 year checkup, he threw a fit every time the doctor tried to touch him, but this was a completely different and cooperative child! What a difference 8 months makes! Anyway, she declared him fine other that the fever, and said there is a 7-day bug going around that's causing fever for a full seven days and a cough. We all have the cough and congestion and we've all had the fever, so I guess it just has to run it's course.

So, by Tuesday afternoon the fever hit me and I was miserable. Luckily Frank was feeling much better and helped take over. We all still stayed at home yesterday, even though Nicolas is pretty much fine, Frank was almost better, and Noelle and I were still suffering with the fever. At least it was only about 101/102 for us, though Noelle's was as high as 104 this past weekend.

Today it's just me at home with the kids. Hopefully Noelle will be doing better, as yesterday she was still miserable and wanted me to hold her from the time I got her up in the morning until I put her to bed at night. She might have let me put her down to play for an hour tops. She's just having a rough time. Nobody really has much of an appetite, though I've managed to get some small bits of food in Noelle from time to time and I've been making sure she gets plenty of fluids, even if it means giving her chocolate milk.

In other upbeat news, thought you'd like to know that I finally told my mom about the baby, as well as my sister-in-law, and Frank told his parents as well. So, the word it out at least with the family, but I'm still not telling too many friends yet. We'll just have to see how long I can hold out on that one.

Ok, well Noelle is finally up and Nicolas is looking for one elusive toy that I know I'll never find but will now have to hunt down. Why is it that the minute I put away some of his toys in storage, that he NEVER plays with anyway, that's the moment he asks about them? UGH! Ok, I might not be around too much for a few more days, since eventually I need to get out of this house and shop for Christmas. Maybe Noelle will actually be okay today and we can do that, wouldn't that be nice? I can dream I guess.
