MY CURRENT BOOK INTEREST: Blue Smoke by Nora Roberts

2005-11-30 - 9:19 a.m.

So I'm doing this BAY-EEE selling stuff and for the most part things work out. Every now and then I get requests that, because I'm a pushover, I tend to honor. My listings say PayPal but some people ask if they can send certified checks. I say okay. My listings give shipping quotes or allow people to calculate their shipping based on zip code. Then some people, such as today, send me an email saying they have heard it's cheaper to ship via Fdx and could I send them a total cost and shipping quote. I looking up Fdx and it ended up being less than a dollar cheaper to ship that way, but then I have to locate a FedEx place and do things different than normal. I personally like that I pack stuff myself and print my own USPS labels and then have the PO pick up the boxes right from my front porch. So, I didn't honor this request and quoted shipping as I had already on the site. If she chooses not to buy, so be it.

I think my little girl is getting a bit stressed out in her new class. She had 3 accidents in school yesterday, which is unheard of for her. When I gave her a bath last night, I noticed a bite mark on her stomach. I asked her bit her and she said "James". I asked if she told the teacher but she said no. I asked if the other kids were nice to her, and she said no but I know she has SOME friends in the new class. I think the poor girl is having a hard time there. At home, she has no problem hitting back or getting her way, but at school I think she may just sit back and take it. We're working on giving her lots of extra attention at home, and trying not to get so annoyed with her constant whining, and we'll see how it goes. I couldn't believe she came home yesterday in another child's outfit when that morning I knew I had put two good outfits in her box there. She went through all of them. My poor girl.

Nicolas continues to do well at school and tells me he enjoys it. Good to hear. I'm sure he will have bad days, but so far so good. November was a mostly green month for him, even though it was a short month for school.

Noah continues to amaze us with his talking and comprehension. He repeats EVERYTHING, asks "whas sat?" all of the time and when you tell him he repeats it. His vocabulary is quite exenstive for almost 17 months. I don't think any of the other two had the vocabulary that he does right now. Of course, the child just LOVES to have books read to him too, and I'm sure that helps. His new routine for night now is to have me sit in the rocking chair in his room and rock him for a few minutes. It's actually quite nice to cuddle with him every night like that.

I was up until midnight last night playing with Movie M@ker software and working on new clips for DVDs. I am working on a cute one of Nicolas taking a bath as a baby with the song "Splish Splash" playing in the background. It's cute. I scanned in additional slides to add to Frank's parent's DVD as well. We should also get the new light bulbs for the projector today so we can start taping some more of the 8mm movies again. Did I mention I'm an addict to this movie making stuff now? I find myself thinking of photos and clips that I have and trying to come up with songs to go with them. I think I need some old Be@tles songs for some of the footage from the home movies, but I don't believe we own any Be@tles CDs.
