MY CURRENT BOOK INTEREST: Blue Smoke by Nora Roberts

2005-07-13 - 8:26 a.m.

So Frank thinks somebody else has taken over my mind and body, because I spent a lot of yesterday cleaning and organizing different areas of our kitchen. You know how it is...you start to organize one thing, which leads you to organize another area, and then another area, and before you know it you've cleaned out a few drawers, some cabinets, reorganized the pantry, and even made dinner for the next night.

One of these days I'll have to tackle the study. That rooms needs some SERIOUS help and it's the most important with all of the bills and such in there.

I walked into our living room last night and found Noah in there, by himself, trying to get up and walk. I grabbed the video camera to watch him for a while undetected. It was so cute to see the determination on his face. Before long he saw me, and I sat on the couch with Noelle and we both watched him with the video camera. He was taking some very long strolls around the room, and really seems to be getting the hang of it now! I don't know why he always chooses evening to do these things. Anyway, there is a video clip as the last one in the video album, but for some reason when it compiled the first few seconds of it with Noah walking didn't work right, so you just hear me talking. The last walk attempt he makes is the best one anyway, where he really looks like he has the hang of it.

I really started thinking more yesterday about my work schedule. The way things are going with Frank at work, he is doing so well there and becoming quite well recognized and as somebody that many of the higher levels are looking to for advice. After only about 6 months there, it sounds like he's established a very good reputation. That will probably mean a nice raise for him this year, but it also means the chances of him changing his schedule the way we had hoped for the fall might not be as good. It may be up to me to be there for Nicolas when the bus picks him up and drops him off, and I'm not sure how my boss and supervisor will like the idea of me basically working a much shorter schedule in the office and then perhaps putting him some time at home to make up for it. I really want to avoid putting him in before and after care.

Anyway, mom is at the house with Noah today, I'll be curious to hear if he walks for her too.
Oh, and yesterday Nicolas' class at school had a visit from a clown. As a result, Nicolas got this eagle painted on his arm, and I took photos for him before he had to wash it off last night.
