2005-06-07 - 11:36 a.m.

It's SOO hot here. Hard to believe that just Thursday it was in the 60s and rainy, and now it's nineties and HUMID! I had to practically DRAG the kids (well, I did with Noelle at least while she kicked at me) away from daycare yesterday. They had lots of fun and were not willing to leave the huge playground there. Noelle got very little nap due to the unfamiliar surroundings, so she was cranky and didn't argue when I put her to bed early. Still, I had to bribe them all to get them home, and I used the pool as an excuse.

So, got the kids loaded for the drive home from daycare and called Frank to let him know he needed to inflate our $8 Wally World special pool for them to use. Dinner was another bribe (No pool unless you eat) and then they got to spend time on the deck in the pool. Even Noah got in on the action and mostly hung on the side of the pool from the outside, splashed and stuck his face in the water, and then tried to drink the water from the deck (see photo below).

Anyway, I'm sure the kids enjoyed it. Frank is now complaining of illness, and although I have a doctor's appointment today, I have noticed I no longer have the sore throat. I may have to cancel.

Plus I finished my book "Almost Heaven" last night and it did not disappoint. I started reading around 9:30pm and just couldn't put it down until I finished it around 11pm. So good. I have to get some more McNaught novels now!
