So last night I was hypnotized. Only for a short time, but it was definitely an interesting feeling to not have control of your own mind for a while. It was cool in a way though. It was a big deal for me to even get up on stage, since I am very afraid of being in front of people. Still, when there are 20 or 25 people on stage with you, it doesn't seem too bad.
Hey, I even got to shake hands with Flip as he helped me up on the stage. Plus of course he was sitting next to me quite a bit as I was up on stage for almost 2 hours in the crowd of people. Some of the people that managed to take in all of his suggestions were just great and so funny. I probably would not have been that funny if it had worked more for me.
So what happened to me, do you ask? Well right after the initial induction on stage as our eyes were closed he told us we wouldn't be able to open them. I couldn't and it was so strange. Then he told us we'd forget our own names and even though I knew he was going to ask this (he does it every show and this was my 4th time seeing him) sure enough once he called on me I had no clue what my name was at all. I was sure I should know it. Yet I couldn't recall.
The rest of the show had a lot of suggestions I'd seen before and some I had not, but so many people that managed to stay hypnotized were just so great and so funny. I love Flip's shows. He's back in town in January and I really want to see him again. Perhaps I'll try again to be hypnotized, but I'm not sure, just knowing it didn't work this time.
If you ever get a chance to see a Flip Orley show, I highly recommend it. Even if you aren't getting hypnotized, every show is different and not one show have I not laughed and enjoyed totally.
Ok, now that my little girl is busy destroying things on my desk, I need to go give her some lunch and get her ready for a nap. Noah will probably be up soon too, and I think I may try to give him some cereal this afternoon for the first time.
