Just a quick rundown of our weekend.

Friday I got home and got ready for my "date" with Frank. We went to dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse. It was yummy, but as usual it was too much food, especially for me. I ate as much of my filet and shrimp as I could though. We then headed to the mall to catch a movie, as I wanted to see Shrek 2. Well, we stood in line at the kiosk to buy tickets and then realized that we had to go to another one. Once we got to the next one, the show we wanted to see was sold out and we would have had to wait over an hour for the next one. I just wasn't up for that, so we ditched the movie idea and decided to do some shopping instead. It was so nice so shop without kids and be able to browse stores at our own pace. Frank picked up several new shirts, I got 2 new maternity shirts, and we picked up 3 little outfits for baby Noah before heading back home.

I don't even remember much of the rest of the weekend. I can tell you that we spent part of Saturday cleaning up and repainting some of our resin furniture. I've had this white resin table, 6 chairs, and small end table for years but because it is white it's just impossible to clean. I found a paint product specifically for resin and other plastics, and bought a dark blue color. Unfortunately, I've having a hard time finding enough of the paint to finish the work. I cleaned up the furniture on Saturday, wiping it all down, and Frank did the painting. So far we've finished 2 chairs and part of the small end table and the larger dining table, with 3 cans of paint. I managed to buy the last 3 cans of paint at another store this weekend, but I'm sure we'll need more before we are done.

We're also contemplating our next project at home and what we can afford to do right now. We'd really like to put in a patio and walkway in our backyard. The ground in our backyard is on such a slope that we have a lot of wasted space right now. A patio would be great for when we need some extra space to setup tables or a small pool for the kids, or just another place for sitting. I'm just not sure it's a task we need to do right now, with me being so close to the end of this pregnancy.

Sunday was when I went out to get some more of the resin paint and decided to browse the plants at the local hardware store. They had a great sale on all of their plants, so I came home with a ton of them, spending less than $20 on the paint and the plants. Sadly, I don't even know where I'm going to put a lot of them. I got out a few pots and planted some of them, and replaced the dead plants in my front planters with some new ones, but I still have plants in containers that I have to figure out what I'm going to do with them. I'm contemplating getting some pots or some boxes for our deck and planting them there, but I just don't know yet. I really don't have a green thumb at all, but I really want to try to keep these plants around for a while. We'll have to see if I can really do that.

Other than that, nothing else exciting. We had Frank's parents over on Sunday evening for steamed crabs and shrimp for dinner, which was wonderful. Frank is currently suffering from some severe pain in one of his legs and he's really been having a hard time getting around since Sunday. He's finally seeing a doctor today about it. So, with him having a hard time getting around, and me having a hard time doing too much, it's been a tough weekend.

I also managed to clean up the nursery a little more. I got the closet emptied out in there and just managed to get things arranged a little better. It's still not really ready, and I'm not sure if we'll bother to paint it soon or not, but at least it is a little closer to be ready soon.

Nicolas had a terrible day yesterday, with lots of screaming and tempers flaring, and it's just so frustrating to deal with at times. It doesn't help that we got a note from his teacher on Friday, which was basically a tirade about the bad day that he had had that day. She went on and one about the things he'd done, how he didn't listen to her, how timeout didn't work. Well, welcome to the world of children! We deal with that at home at times too. I don't know why she feels the need to give a detailed report of his bad day and ask us for advice. I just know it's her inexperience that's causing her to write these notes, but it just may reach a point where we have to go down there one day and observe him in class and have a talk with her. Since Frank picked Nicolas up on Friday, he read the note and immediately asked to speak to her. Well, what do you know, she had gone home early, so he didn't get the chance. I'm just looking forward to the fall when Nicolas goes to a new class, with new teachers, who I know have lots more experience than she does and we'll see how things go there.

That was our weekend and now I'm looking forward to a short 4-day work week this week before the next weekend.
